For Vital Design Solutions, COVID-19 has changed the way we do business. It has helped us implement more flexible working arrangements, changed our level of face-to-face contact and opened a window into the virtual world. However, among the improvements lie some challenges we were not prepared for. Vital has a team in Melbourne and since March, they have had to work from home. Although our team has the equipment they need to function as per usual, being at home for this extended period of time is surely exacerbating the certain cabin fever that mandatory lock down brings. The determination and perseverance to ensure we are meeting deadlines and kicking proverbial goals is to be admired and we are grateful for the continued commitment shown by our colleagues in these unfamiliar times. The team in Canberra had a brief stint at home but has avoided the challenges faced by our Victorian counterparts. We are embracing the Microsoft Teams platform and are finding ways to better manage site inspections and essential site meetings. As a whole, Vital was extremely lucky to keep all staff, maintain work and improve our clients confidence in our unwavering abilities.

FROM INCEPTION TO COMPLETION
FROM INCEPTION TO COMPLETION. PARTNERING WITH THE RIGHT TEAM IS THE KEY TO A SUCCESSFUL DEVELOPMENT…
Vital’s mantra is one that rings true with all successful developments. Without the right moving parts, projects are delayed, clients are left in the dark and reputations become blurred. Vital has always been determined to partner with like minded clients and developers who also strive for the best results possible. With long time clients such as Geocon, Construction Control and JW Land, Vital continues to deliver high quality hydraulic and civil design and documentation to ensure that project completion runs smoothly.
Vital not only believes this to be true when working with clients, but strongly enforces this mantra ‘in house’. Vital’s team includes driven individuals, with varying experience in not only hydraulics and civil, but also in geotechnical engineering, architecture and plumbing. The combination of hands on and theory based training allows the team to work as a well oiled machine which in turn, provides clients with the assurance that their design will be looked at from all possible perspectives. Although there is ‘Meet Our Team’ on the website, we want you to meet the amazing team that has helped build and maintain Vital’s reputation. Next week, we are going to start with Joshua Pirotta, founder, director and someone who lives and breathes this industry.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Thank you for your continued support throughout the year that was 2020. May you and your family have a safe and wonderful Christmas, and best wishes for a very happy new year.
On Friday the 4th of December, Vital celebrated the end of the year with a day filled with fun, relaxing and yummy food.
We held a Vital Olympics (or the Jimmy Jab games for those Brooklyn 99 fans) that tested the team on trivia, agility, decorating and so much more. The person with the most points at the end of the day was set to win a $200 voucher and most importantly – ‘Champion’ status.
The games/challenges included:
Personlised Guess Who | Giant Jenga | Tallest building challenge | Ping Pong | Quoits | Paper plane throw | Office chair race | Riddle challenge | Darts | Gingerbread house decorating.
After an intense few hours, Simon was the Vital Champion and not only won the respect of his peers, but a personalised t-shirt and a $200 voucher.
When all the games were completed, everyone had to take a number for the op shop lucky dip where dreams, death and fashion is combined. Whatever you picked had to be worn to dinner, and what a fashionable dinner it was indeed.
Dinner was a delicious feast at EightySix in Braddon where we shared a laugh, a glass of wine (many) and a well deserved celebration after such an uncertain year.
Unfortunately our teams in Melbourne and New Zealand couldn’t attend due to COVID, however a do-over in July 2021 is looking good!
